FAQs

What makes you different from other education consultants?

  1. Our difference is simple and transparent: our guidance is completely unbiased.

Many education consultants are paid a commission by the schools and universities their students attend. This can create a conflict of interest, as their advice might be influenced by a financial incentive. We believe that professional advice should be free from any such external motivations.

Our business model is built on one core principle: we are paid exclusively by you, our families. We do not accept a single penny from any school or university. This ensures that our recommendations are based entirely on what is best for your child, their academic goals, their personality, and their unique needs. We are your partner, and your child’s best interests are our only priority.

2. How do you know what’s best for my child?

  1. Our approach is built on a simple principle: to truly understand your child, we must first build a genuine connection with them.

We strive to create a personal connection with every student we work with, allowing us to deeply understand their unique aspirations, personality, and academic needs. With over 12 years of teaching experience in Asia, our background provides us with a direct, first-hand understanding of the strengths and challenges faced by students in this region.

This perspective is what allows us to act as an effective bridge between the educational cultures of the UK and US and your child’s needs. We are dedicated to providing honest, empathetic guidance to help them find the perfect fit.

3. How does the process start?

  1. The first step for every family is our free initial consultation.

This is an opportunity for us to learn about your child's academic background, their interests, and their future aspirations. We will discuss your goals and answer any questions you may have about the application process.

After this conversation, we can then recommend the most suitable service for your family, whether that is a full, comprehensive plan or a specific standalone service.

4. Are your services confidential?

  1. Yes, absolutely. Your data is completely confidential, no matter where you are in the world.

As a UK-registered company, we are bound by strict data protection regulations, known as the UK GDPR. These laws require us to handle all personal and confidential information with the utmost care and security.

This commitment means we:

  • Use your data only for the purpose for which it was collected.

  • Store your data securely and privately.

  • Will never share your information with a third party without your explicit consent.

You can be confident that your family's sensitive information is protected by law, which is a key part of our promise to be a trustworthy and unbiased partner.

5. Do you have a physical office we can visit?

  1. We do not have a public, physical office.

As a modern, high-touch consultancy, our business model is built on providing you with a direct, personal service rather than maintaining a large corporate office. This allows us to focus entirely on our clients and our unbiased guidance.

We are very happy to meet face-to-face when we are in Asia, and we even encourage it. For your convenience, we also meet all of our families via secure video calls (Zoom/LINE/Google Meet) to assist you regardless of your location.

6. What is the typical timeline?

  1. The timeline is a very important part of the journey and is unique to every family.

For a full application journey, the process can span from 6 to 18 months, depending on your child's age and the type of school they are applying to. For a standalone service, such as an essay review or a specific admissions challenge, the timeline is much shorter

Because we offer a range of comprehensive and standalone services, the best way to determine a personalised timeline is to book a free consultation with us. We can then assess your family's needs and provide you with a detailed, step-by-step plan.

7. Do you only work with 'top-tier' schools?

  1. Our philosophy is simple: we believe that the right school is the best school.

While we have extensive knowledge of the world's most highly selective universities and boarding schools, our mission is to find the perfect fit for your child. A "top-tier" school on a league table may not be the ideal environment for every student to thrive and be happy.

We focus on a comprehensive approach to finding a school that truly aligns with your child’s academic goals, personality, and interests. Our guidance is always focused on securing a place at a school where your child will be challenged, supported, and fulfilled.

8. Do you guarantee admission to a specific university?

  1. No. We do not guarantee admission to any specific university.

The reality of university admissions is that no ethical consultant can guarantee a specific outcome. There are simply too many factors at play that are outside of our control, from the number of applicants to the university’s own selection criteria.

Our promise to you is very different. We guarantee that we will be your dedicated partner throughout the entire journey. We will work to ensure your child’s application is as strong as it can possibly be. We will focus on a strategy that is not just about getting in, but about finding a place where your child will be a successful student and a happy individual.

9. Will my consultant change during the service timeframe?

  1. No, your consultant will not change.

We are a high-touch consultancy, and a key part of our promise is a personal, consistent relationship with you and your child. We will be your single, dedicated point of contact throughout the entire application journey. From our first conversation to the moment your child is accepted, you can be confident that you'll be working with the same person who knows your family's goals and needs.

10. How involved will we be as parents?

  1.  We view our role as a true partnership, and your involvement is absolutely essential.

Our approach is built on a simple philosophy: we are not a faceless service provider that takes a hands-off approach. We are your dedicated advisor, committed to working alongside you and your child throughout the entire application journey.

While we will provide the expertise, strategy, and guidance, your unique insights into your child's personality and goals are invaluable. We will be in regular communication with you, ensuring you are a partner in every decision and that you feel fully supported at every step.

11. Why don't you offer IELTS/TOEIC classes?

  1. Our business model is built on one simple principle: unbiased specialisation.

While many companies offer a "one-stop shop" that includes lessons and admissions counseling, we believe our expertise is dedicated solely to admissions strategy. This focus allows us to provide the highest quality guidance without any conflicts of interest. We are not an academic institution; we are your strategic partner in the admissions process.

12. What happens after my child gets accepted?

  1. Our comprehensive service guides your child all the way through to accepting a place at their chosen university or boarding school. We'll be there to help you navigate offers, secure their place, and complete any final academic or administrative paperwork.

Beyond that, we also offer a range of highly personalised services to ensure your child's transition to the UK or US is as smooth as possible. These are tailored to your family's specific needs. For example, we offer a dedicated settling-in service, where we can physically accompany and assist your child as they get comfortable at their new school.

We will be happy to discuss your needs and a full list of our optional services during our consultation.

13. How are you paid?

  1. We are paid directly by our families for our time and expertise.

We do not accept any commissions from schools, universities, or third-party institutions. This commitment is central to our promise of providing completely unbiased guidance. You can be confident that our recommendations are based entirely on what is best for your child, and not on any financial incentive from a third party.

We believe that professional advice should be transparent. All of our fees are clearly outlined in our service contract, and you will know exactly what you are paying for before our work begins.

14. Do you offer payment plans?

  1. Yes, we do.

For our comprehensive services, we offer a flexible payment plan to make our guidance more accessible to families. We can discuss a schedule that is divided into three simple installments, tied to key milestones in the application journey. This ensures that our fees are spread out and that you are confident in our service at every stage of the process.

15. Do you offer a refund or a money-back guarantee?

  1. Our fees are for our professional time, expertise, and a commitment to providing you with the highest quality service. Because of this, our fees are non-refundable once a service has begun.

However, we do offer a 14-day cooling-off period after the signing of our contract. If you choose to cancel within this period, you will receive a refund of your initial payment, minus a small administrative fee and any fee for work that has already been completed.

We want you to be completely confident in your decision, which is why we offer a free initial consultation. This is a risk-free opportunity for you to get to know us and ensure that our partnership is the right fit for your family.

16. Why are your fees in US dollars when you are a UK company?

  1. As a UK-registered company that serves a global clientele, we have chosen to invoice in US dollars for your convenience. The US dollar is a stable and widely accepted currency around the world, making it easier for our international families to manage payments and understand our fees. Our UK registration ensures we comply with all legal and professional standards, providing you with the highest level of trust and security.

17. Do you accept local payment methods such as LINE pay?

  1. No. We are a UK-registered company and our payment systems are designed to comply with UK and international financial regulations. These rules ensure that all transactions are secure and transparent.

For your security and convenience, we accept payments via international systems like Stripe and bank transfers.

18. Do you offer in-person meetings, and how are travel costs handled?

  1. While we meet all of our clients via video call as a standard part of our service, we are very happy to arrange in-person meetings. As we are often in Asia, meeting with our clients is no problem and we encourage it. Travel and accommodation expenses for these meetings would be at the client's expense, but these arrangements would be discussed and agreed upon in advance.

19. How can we get in touch with you? What is your typical response time?

  1. We're committed to being responsive and accessible to all our clients.

For all formal inquiries, document sharing, and long-form questions, email is the best way to get in touch. We respond to all emails within 24 hours.

For quick questions and messages, LINE (for Taiwan) or WhatsApp (for Hong Kong and Singapore) are our most responsive channels. You can expect a quick reply there.

Our UK phone number is provided for direct calls. You can be assured that we will answer your call during our working hours

20. How can we help make this process a success?

  1. We believe that admissions success is a true partnership between our consultancy, the student, and the family.

Our role is to provide you with the expertise, strategic guidance, and clear planning to navigate the admissions journey. Your role is equally important: by providing information in a timely manner and by encouraging your child to be an active participant, you help make the process a smooth and successful one.
