Applying for Undergraduate & Master’s Courses: UK
Undergraduate Applications
All undergraduate applications are made through UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admissions Service).
You can apply for up to five courses in one cycle.
Your application will typically include:
A personal statement
Predicted or final academic grades
References from your teachers or tutors
Proof of English language proficiency (e.g. IELTS, TOEFL)
UCAS deadlines vary, but most courses close around mid-January. Applications to Oxford, Cambridge, and medicine-related degrees close earlier.
Postgraduate Applications
For Master’s degrees, you apply directly to each university, usually via an online portal.
Requirements can vary by course but often include:
A personal statement or statement of purpose
Academic transcripts
References
CV or portfolio (for some courses)
Proof of English proficiency
There’s no universal deadline for postgraduate applications, but it’s best to apply early, especially if you need a visa or are seeking a scholarship.
